ABOUT LIFTING GEAR ENGINEER
-Update!- LIFTING GEAR ENGINEER has completed work on a brand new album called Jumble Heads - coming soon!

LGE'S debut album, Brain Holiday, was released in the UK on September 19th 2005. The first machine.records album release to be distributed by Shellshock, Brain Holiday, features Cables pt. 1 and Rainly Mainly, both heard on Radio 1 and Radio Wales.

Rob Morgan started recording as LIFTING GEAR ENGINEER in July 2002. Highlights since then include having a track on the 2003 Boobytrap compilation A Step In The Left Direction, regular airplay on Adam Walton's Musical Mystery Tour, a live session on Beth & Huw's Radio 1 show, and playing at The Spitz with dDamage and Mira Calyx.

REVIEWS
BBC WALES:
'the Hammond riffle attack of Lifting Gear Engineer, kind of a cross between Broadcast and Death In Vegas' more meandering moments'

KRUGER MAGAZINE:
"When I was first given this album for review, I really didn't know what to think of it. There was something distracting about the genre-hopping techno/ soundscape/ ambient mix that threw me and I couldn't understand what kind of album it was trying to be. But that's what you get for trying to do two things at once, so I gave up

whatever I was doing and took it into the back room for a doors-shut, lights-off session which proved just how wrong I could be.
Brain Holiday is an engaging, vibrant and sophisticated album of the quality that I have come to expect from a Machine Records artist, whilst still being fairly open and accessible. Its Warp influences are fairly obvious (and wide ranging) but it has a character and charm all of its own that grows on you the more you listen to it. So no identity crisis, just an album that says 'Listen to me. And do it properly'."
